Ethan Matthews is an indie pop artist who blends the worlds of pop, 2000s R&B, soft rock, and indie lo-fi. Drawing from a background in jazz and classical piano, Ethan creates music that forms familiar shapes for older audiences to connect with, while adding a new-age twist that captivates younger listeners.
Growing up in the Bay Area, he was influenced by a broad range of R&B artists, including Beatchild, B.o.B, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and many others. In 2016, he began writing, recording, and producing his own original songs using GarageBand, and uploading them to SoundCloud.
Ethan honed his songwriting and music production skills at Berklee College of Music, graduating in 2025.
Today, Ethan continues to create music in his bedroom with his guitars and home studio setup. He releases his work across various platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal – his song “Orange” being a fan favorite. He also engages with an active fanbase on TikTok and Instagram, where he has amassed over 300k followers combined.
